New CD: Una Mas!
Una mas! Encore! Zugabe!
World Brass met in May in the city of Bremen, Germany, to record a new CD. This, our fourth CD, presents the lighter side of World Brass’ repertoire as well as highlighting the works of two arrangers with whom we have closely associated ourselves over the years. This CD represents the music we generally play in the second half of our concerts, music that we have chosen from our personal listening favourites from all different styles and music that has never before been arranged for brass ensemble. These are World Brass originals.
We consider ourselves very lucky to have found Oliver Groenewald, jazz trumpeter and professor at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold, Germany. His arangements of the music of Duke Ellington can already be heard on our third CD, „von Ellington und Schostakowitsch“ On this CD he has taken on brand new and diverse arranging challenges and, once again, produced wonderful work for us.
