Serguei Khmielevskoi, Ukraine

Trombone


Serguei Khmielevskoi was born in the Ukraine where he started his musical education at the age of 11 years old at the music school of his native town of Krivoy Rog. He continued his music and trombone education at the high school there.

He moved to Belgium in 1992 where he continued his trombone studies at the Koninklijke Conservatorium of Antwerp. There he received his mastership in the class of Mr. Karl Smits. During that time, Serguei also gathered experience playing as a free lance musician in the Belgian National Orchestra and the Royal Opera La Monnaie in Brussels.

He finished his education participating in the Sewannee Summer course in America where he received the Award of Merit which resulted in him taking lessons at the Rotterdam Conservatorium in the class of Mr George Wiegel.

He started teaching in music schools in Grand Duchy of Luxemburg in 2001 and at the same time started playing with the World Brass ensemble. He is also a member of the Quatuor de trombones de Luxembourg.

Serguei plays trombone as well as Euphonuim and continues playing as a contracted musician in the Luxemburg philharmonic orchestra, Orchestre National de Lorraine (Metz, France), Orchestre National de Jazz Luxembourg.
