Claude Origer

Trombone


Born on the 20th of August 1973 in Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourg), Claude Origer started learning the Trombone at the age of 13 with Robert Weyland at the Conservatoire of the city of Esch-sur-Alzette. After his high school degree, he continued his studies with Roger Renard at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels.

Three years later he entered the National Conservatoire of Paris to study with Gilles Millière and Jean Raffard. During his studies, Claude gained the final diplomas of Trombone, Chamber music and Solfege in Brussels as well as first prizes for Trombone and Chamber music in Paris. Claude was a member of the Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra from 1996 to 1998. He has played with orchestras such as the Orchestre Symphonique Français, the Philharmonie de Lorraine and the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra and has attended Masterclasses worldwide with Denis Wick, Joseph Alessi, Andrew Berryman, Michel Becquet, Michel Tilkin, Franz Masson and Jacques Mauger.

In 2005 Claude Origer was appointed Professor of Trombone at the Conservatoire of Esch/Alzette in Luxembourg. He performs with his own Brass Quintet “Les 5 gourmets” and is a founding member of the “Luxembourg Trombone Quartet”. Claude also plays regulary with the “Luxembourg Jazz Orchestra”, sings in the vocal jazz quartet “Jazz’appella” and conducts the Wind Band of Bertrange as well as the Youth Wind Band of Soleuvre.
